San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium 2025 – Special Lobular Session
Thanks to ongoing patient advocacy efforts, lobular breast cancer will be featured in a special session at the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) this December 2025. This marks an important recognition of ILC and the growing impact of patient voices in shaping research priorities.
General registration for the 2025 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium is now available. Virtual registration for advocates is free and registering will give you access to all Poster Abstracts and recorded sessions.
On Tuesday, 9th of December, there is a lobular specific session with international researchers, clinicians and advocates.
The session will cover:
- Classification of breast cancer subtypes
- Emerging biomarkers with clinical relevance
- Current debates on the role of chemotherapy
- Insights from ILC-specific clinical trials
On Thursday, 11th of December, Dr Steffi Oesterreich will give a yearly review of advances in research.
The session will conclude with a patient advocate perspective and a panel discussion, highlighting the crucial role advocates play in bringing attention to lobular breast cancer.
This inclusion is a milestone, demonstrating that patient advocacy can influence the research agenda and ensure lobular breast cancer receives the attention it deserves.
